The Business Problem

The customer was a market leader in apparel and accessories business. They had a large number of Superstores and Specialty brand stores in various parts of India. They had many stores in tier 2 and tier 3 cities as well. The product training was given to employees over an extended period of time and they were also informed about new product introductions. A key success factor for customer experience and customer engagement was an informed and well trained store staff. A large number of trainers were made to travel across stores to impart these trainings and to conduct the assessments which involved a lot of travel and boarding costs.


Solution / Intervention

We created visually enhanced graphic training modules and divided them into groups as per job roles. Question banks related to product knowledge were developed. These question banks were tagged into various sub parts. The test papers were generated by pooled selection from the question banks. Various types of tests were possible including Descriptive essay type, multiple choice, fill up the blank, match the following, image choice, voice based questions. The users were divided into relevant organization categories as visible in the HR data systems. The Assessment and Learning system automatically assigned the relevant content to the trainees as per their job roles, functions and even brands. After learning activity a detailed report was available to the trainers through an online dashboard. The dashboard provided real time training progress through tables and charts.


Outcome

The online availability of the training and assessment reduced the travel costs by 43%. The standardized training was easier to conduct and was easily implemented across the organization in one go. The various reports were made available on a single dashboard helped the supervisor to assess the performance of his employees on various parameters and provide proper feedback.
